Enjoy social and competitive play

There are lots of ways juniors can play tennis with the emphasis being on FUN! We run teams for various age groups during the early summer and stage regular social and open events. Our holiday camps always finish with a match play event. Click here to find out more.

Coaching

The Club’s Director of Coaching, Paul Davey runs a full program for juniors of all standards and ages. The program includes mini tennis, junior development, futures and performance, squads, drills and match play during term time and tennis camps during school holidays. Click here for the current coaching schedule or contact Paul.

Being a better player

Being a great tennis player requires practice, they say up to 10,000 hours to become a professional. Juniors aged 5 or so start by playing mini tennis. Mini tennis red involves playing with a slow moving and large red ball, small courts and mini nets and progresses to smaller and faster, orange, green and yellow balls, and full size nets and courts. How parents can help

There are lots of ways to help your child. Parents make perfect hitting partners so practice with your child when you can. Parents can play on our mini tennis zone with junior members for FREE. Plus you can also get involved on the committee, help with coaching, Junior Club nights or events. Contact Emma for more details.

Ratings and British Tennis Membership

Each junior member is encouraged to apply for a FREE British Tennis Membership (BTM) and rating once joining the club. This takes 2 minutes and will give each junior a rating and provides facility to log match results. Further details available on the LTA website. Click the ‘places to play’ button and attach yourself to Marlow Tennis Club. With your rating/BTM all your internal matches count towards your rating and you can represent the Club in junior team leagues and play in LTA events.

For those over 9 years old BTM enables entry into the Club ballot for Wimbledon tickets. Just opt in annually for ballot tickets on the website.
